Ballymena, one of the best shopping towns in Northern Ireland, is close by, and the main M2 motorway, connecting the two major cities of Belfast and Londonderry/Derry right beside County Donegal, just two miles.

A few miles from our front door is Mt. Slemish where St. Patrick kept his sheep and closer to us is the home where the grandparents of a USA president lived. Truly a unique spot to access anywhere in Northern Ireland, including the 'Game of Thrones' sets, Giants Causeway, Mountains of Mourne, Dunluce Castle, (they say CS Lewis carved his stories from there), Dark Hedges, one of the best wedding locations, Galgorm Resort & Spa, and Galgorm Castle, home to the wonderfully magical and popular Galgorm Castle Fairy Trail.

Our bed and breakfast is roughly 30 miles away from the North coast which is home to 'The Giant's Causeway'. A wonderful sight steeped in Irish myth, The Giant's Causeway is a natural rock formation on the North Antrim coast near to the seaside town of Portrush. There is a great walk which takes you around all the formations which go right into the Irish Sea.

The Glens run down the East Coast of Antrim and are one of the most beautiful areas of natural landscape in the world. With the closest being Glenariff at around 10 miles from Ballymena the Glens are a wonderful way to spend the day walking in serene, picturesque woods. As with anywhere in Ireland you are able to stop anywhere along the way for a traditional Irish meal or a drink in one of the many local pubs.

There are two local golf courses in Ballymena: Galgorm Golf Course and Ballymena Golf Course; these course are each within 15 minutes’ drive of our bed and breakfast. There are also a wealth of other golf courses easily within driving distance including Kilrea, Castledawson and the famous Royal Portrush golf course.

As well as the Causeway and the Glens there are many other things which are within an hours’ drive from Meadow View, these include: The Bushmill's Brewery, the oldest whiskey distillery in the world. Belfast, the capital, great shopping and many other attractions, and Ballycastle, one of the many small seaside towns with great beaches.
